Suburb Guides

East Fremantle

One of the smallest municipalities in Australia, the Town of East Fremantle is home to about 7,000 residents. The popular riverside suburb was developed in the early 1900s, and many gracious historic homes remain on large lots in tree-lined streets. Villa homes and apartments, such as those found in the Richmond Quarter, also make up the offering. With a median house price of around $1.5m, East Fremantle real estate is tightly held. Typically, fewer than 100 houses are sold annually and it’s common for homes to remain under single ownership for several decades.

For lifestyle, East Fremantle has much to offer. Riverbank walks, boating and kayaking are popular, as are waterfront venues like the Left Bank pub, Jetty, Dome Café and Beach St. Co. The historic George Street precinct is a rich pocket of boutique retail, fitness and hospitality outlets. Young George, Ethos and La Lune are here, along with yoga and pilates studios, and The Duke jazz bar.

Dethridge Groves Real Estate has been serving buyers, sellers, tenants and investors in East Fremantle since 1979. We’re anticipating more exciting opportunities as residential development unfolds in the boutique Royal George Hotel and the ex-Roofing 2000 site by the Swan River.
